...Even though PDT has cured my acne problems (I can’t remember the last time I had to treat a pimple on my face), I am so convinced of the other beneficial aspects of the treatment that I plan on repeating it annually...
I have always suffered from mild adult acne (with my specific problem being more the occasional large pimple than the continual fine ones) and had even considered going on a course of Accutane a few years ago; the “nuclear bomb’ of acne treatment! However, I was rather put off by the fairly severe side-effects of oral treatments, so when I heard that your PDT treatments (which are essentially of the non-invasive, topical variety) were effective in treating adult acne, I was keen to try it.
The few days of discomfort following the treatment was a small price to pay for final result. Within months of the treatment, I noticed that I was hardly ever getting large pimples – if I would get one it would be a small one that would also disappear much quicker, without even needing Clearasil/Sebuspot! A major bonus (which was the main contributor towards me going for a second PDT treatment about a year later, and which also cured any remaining acne problems I still had at the time) was that my skin tone and texture also experienced a major boost. Apparently PDT is also good for treating pre-cancerous skin lesions buried invisibly underneath the skin?
